February 2019 visitors

Barbara and Chrissy from APO in Germany arrived first, followed by Rainer and Benjamin. It was great to welcome them all back again and to have Chrissy here for her first time. Barbara, Rainer and Benjamin Rudl have been visiting Sarnelli House for almost 20 years now. They totally immersed themselves in the lives of the children and helped with homework, sports, and birthdays and bought musical equipment, as well as continuing their friendships with the staff. A great visit from loyal and generous friends.

Anja Morzuch, also from APO in Germany, a much loved former volunteer came for a quick visit in between her studies. She was welcomed back warmly and is still missed.

Carl and Ann Gross from the UK came for their annual visit. They caught up with all the goings on at Sarnelli House and their support is very appreciated.

Students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Boston and Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok visited to collect data for a project they are doing for Sarnelli House. Their project is  “Assessing options for Renewable Energy”. They came and interviewed staff and stakeholders and went back to Bangkok and come up with a set of excellent recommendations. We loved their energy and enthusiasm.

Jessica from the USA came to spend the last month of her six months in Thailand where she has been volunteering teaching English and caring for abandoned dogs. She has been a great help with English teaching and other activities for the kids.

Mark Jennings, Mary Larsen and August and Clare arrived from the USA. Mark and Mary’s parents have been sponsors and supporters of Sarnelli House for many years. So, it was great to see more of the family. They spent time with the children after school playing sport and amusing the House of Hope kids and were a great hit!  We hope to see them again.
